  19.     one that's already there). If I attempt to run dvips (or xdvi) on a
  20.     file by giving its absolute path name, and that file includes a
  21.     PostScript file (whose name is given relative to the directory
  22.     containing the TeX master file), the included file is not found. The
  23.     feature I am requesting is the ability to specify the searching of the
  24.     directory containing the TeX master file as well as the current
  25.     directory. Is this possible?

  29. Maybe it would be cleaner to put that directory in your TEXINPUTS?
  30. (Or cd there and do it :-)

  32. Having kpathsea add the directory to the search path automatically, even
  33. at the end, seems another layer of confusion about where the paths come
  34. from.

  36. Still, I can't see any terrible harm this would do at first glance.

  38. Do others think this would be worthwhile?
